Every three years since 1907, 80 vintage cars undertake the challenge of driving from Beijing, China to Paris, France. Crossing the Gobi desert, then Russia or the southern parts through Kazakhstan and Turkey to reach Europe and finally Paris 14,000Km, 12 countries, 3 continents. in 35 days.

In 2017 I met Kuhrt Gerhardt, the hero of the series, at an air-cooled Porsche rally. He pointed at his 1967 Porsche 912 and told me he planned to enter the 2019 Peking to Paris Rally. At the time I was Head Of Production at Petrolicious, and I knew this was a series I just had to develop.

I ideated both season 1 and 2, found the budget (sponsored by Porsche), produced it, and drove the camera car at the rally for season 2.

Season 1 is the preparation of the car, which took 11 months. Season 2 sees our protagonists partaking in the rally.
